Real boxes.
Provably fair.

Every unbox result is locked in before you purchase and cannot be changed afterwards. You can verify any result yourself.

How it works

Cryptography you can check

Our provably fair system uses cryptography to ensure every result is fair and verifiable.

  1. Server seed generated

We generate a random server seed for each unbox.

  2. Hash shown before you unbox

A hash of the server seed is shown to you before you unbox.

  3. You set your client seed

Your browser creates a random client seed, or you can set/regenerate one.

  4. You unbox

The final result is calculated using a secure algorithm (HMAC_SHA256) combining the server seed, client seed and a counter (nonce).

  5. Server seed is revealed

After the unbox, the server seed is revealed so anyone can verify the hash matches and the result is fair.

Key terms

  • Client Seed

A random value created by your browser for each unbox.

  • Server Seed

A secret random value generated by us for each unbox.

  • Server Seed Hash

A hash of the server seed, shown before you unbox.

  • Nonce

A counter that increases with each unbox.

  • Algorithm

HMAC_SHA256. Combines the server seed, client seed and nonce.

Verify any unbox yourself

Every unbox includes the data you need to confirm the outcome was generated fairly — and locked in before you opened the box.

  1. Go to your account

Log in and open your Unbox History.

  2. Select an unbox

Click on the unbox you want to verify and choose "View Full Verification".

  3. Check the details

You'll see all the data used to generate the result — client seed, server seed, hash, nonce and more.

  4. Verify the hash

Confirm the server seed hash matches the revealed server seed, and that the outcome sits in the correct probability range.

Frequently asked questions

Can the result change after I unbox?
No. The result is generated at the moment of the unbox and locked by the server seed hash we published before you opened the box. That hash cannot be changed afterwards without being detectable.
Why isn't the server seed shown before I unbox?
If the server seed were revealed early, you could calculate the outcome before unboxing. Showing only the hash proves we committed to a seed without letting anyone predict the result.
How do I know the revealed seed matches the hash?
After the unbox, run the revealed server seed through SHA-256. The output should match the server seed hash that was shown before you unboxed.
What's the algorithm you use?
We use HMAC_SHA256, combining the server seed, client seed and nonce. That produces a deterministic number between 0 and 1, which maps onto the published probability ranges for each item in the box.
